Quoddy Boat Shoes
So getting these for the summer... I'm tearing through Sperry's like no other. These are hand-made, leather lined, and supposedly the shit...

A.P.C. New Standard Black

Been everywhere, but I still want them...just not a fan of having to altering my jeans, they're expensive enough already...but then again they do last forever...

To give you some perspective...

This is a University of Chicago Professors map that was developed to show similar levels of GDP! Pretty insane to think that the state of Illinois has the same level of GDP as the entire country of MEXICO!
People ask why I'm not concerned about the "Economic" issues today; simply put...we cannot fail. The USA is the backbone of the economic world. Economies are cyclical. We are in a downturn, deal with it. Save your money, live in a smaller house, stop buying shit you don't need and cannot afford. Pretty simple.

I dig A.P.C. but I'm really looking forward to more of their lighter apparel for spring...

Do yourself a favor...Dress like a MAN.
One of my biggest pet peeves is when Men/Women do not dress appropriately for their job. This phenomenon is especially common in Chicago Men. Also, I've observed that if you dress even semi-well on the weekend, that is apparently a sure sign that you're gay. Living in Lincoln Park (for only two more weeks!) has opened my eyes to how bad recent college grads and other lazy genres of Men dress in Chicago.
It's truly not that hard to dress well, (or should I say at least acceptable,) nor does is have to be expensive.
Here are some basic points for not looking like a 22 year old from Aurora in the office:
Shoes: Something very simple and classic; a black oxford or wingtip will do the trick. NO square toed shoes! Bostonian Malden $110
Socks: I usually follow that your shoes should be the darkest piece, then your socks, then your pants. If you have smaller legs or hate your socks falling down, get over-the-calf socks. Gold Toes are great in black, I have like 15 pairs.
Pants/Slacks: Something that fits; when you stand up hits the top of your shoes, not the bottom! Also, the actual fit of the pants varies by your comfort level, but no boot-cut or flare pants. Straight or slightly tapered will always be in style. I wear Brooks Brothers.
Shirts: This is even easier, go get MEASURED. It's easy and free! By far the best/easiest shirts I own are Brooks Brother's Slim Fit Non-Iron Dress Shirts. For those of you who work with me, we get 15% off, I'm sure you know where the discounts are. Finish with a tie; simple is always a safe bet.
Coats: This definitely has quite a few more choices depending on the weather; none of which are your four year old Columbia or North Face jacket! It's quite easy when you think about it; dress for the weather. The most versatile of these would probably be the Top Coat. For the money and amount of wear, at least here in the Midwest.
Spring/Rain = Trench coat. (Khaki, Black)
Winter = Top/Over Coat. (Dark Blue,Charcoal, Black)
Summer = Sport coat, blazer, or maybe even a vest or something. (Match)

First addition to the condo...

This is my idea for creating more cabinet space and attaining some counter space for a "bar" type area. I think it will look nice in the modern space, of course the wood will match the existing cabinets or I will use an all stainless base.
