Copycat! Let's get 4 or 10 more people on this; however many people you need for a custom order from Alden.
Copcat, haha... I've been talking to Horween for a year and a half on my search for whiskey/cigar cordie longwings... But yes... Let's get an order together... Make up a nice post here and spread the word. I'll get ahold of Alden and Horween and see what we can do...

JCrew calls their color "Tobacco". "Whiskey" & "Cognac" seem more fitting. They can do a store locator to see if any are out there in your size within 48 hours of ordering and ship it for free under their "We Will Find It" policy and since it's a full-price item.
I'd be all over a Whiskey cordovan longwing. Put the order in already!!! Let us at 'em.
J Crew is sold out already??? Damn. I know the Liquor Store was fully stocked with these when I passed by last week.
Maybe if I don't spend another dime till April I can find the $440for the J Crew version.

Just so people aren't confused, the shoe pictured above is Whiskey Shell Cordovan and retails for $650. The J. Crew version is in tan/cognac/tabacco (whatever you want to call it) calfskin for $440. I scored a pair of Whiskey Shell Longwings at the Alden store on Madison several months. I'm sure they sold out, but it might be worth a call.

these are about some of the rarest shoes in the Alden family, if not the entire leather realm. The shells have to be nearly perfect grain and color to hold such a light tannage. Which is why I've learned most cordovan shells end up in the darker colors...
So yes, these shoes are going to push $600 plus, but hey... your son will thank you!
Those are my shoes (and my photo, don't sweat the credit). Got them at the Alden store in NYC. I'd been looking for them for well over a year when someone dropped me a line that they were in stock. These were my grail shoe for ages.
Zachary- congrats on a great pair of shoes! Only question, can I see them now?
JB- JCrew has them back in stock as of yesterday.
Alden of DC has ravello shell longwings. I received them yesterday. Dial them up.
