Store Visit: Self Edge SF
For anyone in the denim world, the name Self Edge is synonymous with great selvage denim brands, hearty shirting, and the beefiest sweatshirts outside of Japan. While in SF for the New Years, I stopped by their original location to chat with founder Kiya and shoot the shit on washing denim (the short answer is yes you should), their amazing Alden boot collaboration with LeatherSoul, and even grabbed an amazing lunch at a classic California cuisine restaurant. Thank again for the chat Kiya, the low down on those bad ass sweatshirts, and oh, if you're girl want's some rad denim, get her in these... they're hot.

What's the long answer?
basically, most indigo doesn't wash away... so soaking and things like that actually prolong the life of the denim. Sweat, dirt, blog, swamp ass, etc.. all break down the denim, after all it's cotton. I've now started soaking my denim ever 25 wears or 1 month and I think they fade the exact same.

Kiya, feel free to chime in... ha
you are seriously the me of 2007...but far more annoying and with nicer cameras.
hahaha, awesome
'me of 2007' is probably the best comment I have read in any blog ever. Excuse me if I am missing some sort of context, but it's unreal.
digging those hangers
Niiiice looking digs, thanks for the denim info!
Anonymous comments are so 2006...
curious about the "low down on those bad ass sweatshirts." i prefer the fit of my two barns outfitters sweats. they're a little more fitted in the sleeves. but the principle is the same as far as sturdy outside and brushed/super soft inside. love em!
